About the Program
The FBI Citizens Academy is an 8-week program that invites you to learn about the FBI, from the Agents and Professional Experts that work in the Bureau, as they share their knowledge, experiences, history and standards for operations.
An in-depth sampling of class activities can be seen on YouTube, hosted by 2011 Alum, and 2012 FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award Recipient, James Krenn, Episodes 5 and 6: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTbL0rhBChU or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzDbuxKBiF0.
The FBI Citizens Academy is a rich and rewarding program that has been ongoing for the past 15 years. Because we encourage Citizens Academy members to remain FBI Outreach Ambassadors in our community, all graduates are formally introduced to the FBI Pittsburgh Chapter of the Citizens Academy Alumni Association (FBICAAA) during their tenure in the class. The Pittsburgh Chapter of the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association is very active in the community, offering both continuing education and community engagement events throughout the year in partnership with the FBI Pittsburgh Division’s Community Outreach Efforts.
