Mission

The mission of the FBI Pittsburgh Citizens Academy Alumni Association (CAAA) is to promote safer communities through service projects and by fostering greater understanding regarding the FBI’s mission, resources, and values.

Organization Overview

Established in 2001, the FBI Pittsburgh Citizens Academy Alumni Association is a nonprofit organization comprised of volunteer ambassadors who have graduated of the FBI Citizens Academy Program and are committed to continuing their engaging both the FBI and the community through a variety of bridge building activities.

Pittsburgh’s Citizens Academy members participate in a variety of programs and activities that are related to priorities of the FBI Pittsburgh Field Office. They include education programs for both members and the community at large, leadership training programs for members, hosting fundings events to support activities, and creating awareness about such threats to our community as identifying and reporting hate crimes, human and drug trafficking, cyber security threats, elder abuse, and activities that endanger children. Alumni volunteer time, expertise, and provide material support for a host of service initiatives.

Chapter members organize educational events that feature both FBI agents and community experts, raise funds that are used to support the Citizen and Teen academies and collect and distribute goods for nonprofit organizations. As well, members enhance their knowledge by participating in leadership training programs.

The FBI Pittsburgh Citizens Academy Alumni Association is a nonprofit organization separate and apart from the FBI.
